Sean Bell is a native Seattleite and has been practicing in the field of Architecture for thirty years. After graduating from Arizona State University in 1988 he worked in several offices around the country, and in Canada. He opened his first architectural office in Seattle, Washington in 1997 which specialized in sustainable custom homes; developing a reputation for projects located on difficult and/or steep slopes. During this time, he patented, utilized and incorporated prefabrication techniques into his projects.
“The final aesthetic result arrives naturally from a disciplined process of careful site analysis, attention to context, simple palette of natural materials and attentively listening to clients’ needs and desires.” His work has been published in numerous architectural journals and has been described in numerous ways, including 'warm industrial', 'industrial modern', 'warm', 'elegant', and 'unique'.
Over my thirty years in the profession of architecture, I have had the great fortune of working with many wonderful people from my hometown of Seattle. Although most of my carrier has been based in Seattle, I also have built projects in China, Texas, New York, and France.
“Either by nature or habit, I prefer and regard the practice of Architecture as a global and holistic endeavor that completely incorporates all aspects of the project. I believe the headwaters of the creative process should not end at the exterior walls of the structure but should thoughtfully, and seamlessly, retain a consistent vision throughout the environment being considered. The environment of a home, or any building, should not only consider all space within the property lines but must also carefully consider the surrounding context. It is always my goal to carefully considering the needs and desires of the client while optimizing the character and quality of the context and environment.”
